The most rewarding thing about being a pharmacist is:
I genuinely enjoy dedicating myself to helping others live a healthier life

Who/what inspired you to be a pharmacist:
Two events during my childhood have scarred my memory, and unquestionably inspired or even more proper to say, urged me to follow a career in a medical field – my grandfather’s death from kidney cancer and my father’s transient ischemic attack (TIA). I was present during both instances yet I could only wish to help more. True, I could have applied to Nursing, Medical or Physician’s Assistant School but it was the power of medications and their mechanism of action on molecular level that caught my attention so greatly. A single shot and my grandfather’s excruciating pain dissipated and he could finally get some rest. A few aspirin tablets temporarily provided the crucial time needed to bring my father to the hospital and prevented any serious brain injury. Each of those moments reinforced my desire to learn more about medications and their magic healing power. I knew I wanted to dedicate myself to helping those in need and provide the necessary medications that would help sustain the quality of life. We often underappreciate the power of health until one day when it suddenly deteriorates. This is the time where my career as a pharmacist allowed me to bring value to the society by providing a simple but vital task - the best medical care possible, educating patients on safe medication use with hopes to make their day a little easier and happier while making their life a little healthier after our interaction. The greatest pleasure I get from my career is seeing a simple yet very powerful, lasting impact on patients’ lives from sharing my knowledge with them during our interaction.
